Free journal prompts
Shadow work prompts.
Questions for the parts of you that you don't post. Grab your journal, pick a side, and write honestly.
Today's prompt
What emotion do I avoid the most, and what did it protect me from as a child?
How to do shadow work
Step 1
Make it safe
Pick a quiet time and a private journal. Nobody reads this but you.
Step 2
Choose one prompt
Don't rush through a list. One honest page beats ten careful ones.
Step 3
Write without editing
Let it be messy. Notice what makes you defensive — that's usually the shadow.
Step 4
Hold both sides
You can understand why you became this way and still choose to change it.
Step 5
Close with care
End with a breath, a walk or something soft. Healing isn't punishment.
Step 6
Get support
If something heavy comes up, bring it to a therapist or someone you trust.

The Fire prompts
Claim your space: boundaries, self-worth, pleasure and walking out of survival mode.
- Where do I say yes when my whole body means no?
- What boundary am I afraid to set, and who am I afraid of losing?

- What would I do with my life if I believed I deserved ease?
- Who gets the best of my energy, and do they earn it?
- What pleasure have I denied myself because I felt I had to earn it first?
Two things can be true
The Duality prompts
Hold both sides at once without forcing yourself to pick one.
- What two things are true about me right now that seem to contradict each other?
- Who was I then, and who am I now? What do they need to say to each other?
- Where can I be healed and still not tolerate disrespect?
- What am I grateful for that also hurt me?
- What part of me do I show the world, and what part do I keep in the diary?
- If my shadow could write me a letter, what would the first line say?
